A Cleaned up and Shrunk-down Version of the 1962-1964 Corvair Monza Spyder/Spyder
Tachometer Schematic
Here's the original after cleanup.
My Version of the Schematic in a More Legible and Modern Style With Recommended Parts
Substitutions:

Thanks to Pete Faulkner and Tony Underwood for the help with circuit analysis and
substitution suggestions.
Here's the reversed-palette version (white
background) suitable for printing.
The 1965-1966 Corsa tach schematic is basically identical to the earlier one. The meter
movement and choice of transistor seem to be the major differences. I did get some
component numbers from study of the Corsa tach, these are included:
- Note that examination of the 1549970 circuit package shows a month and year of
construction. This could be handy for deciding just what year-model your tach was made
for. In this particular case, the tach was from a 1966 dash, and the package had a build
date of 7-65.
- I haven't a clue about who made the transistor, or about its original properties. Our
substitute should work OK. If anybody has some old databooks and can get a real name for
the manufacturer and some curves, it'd be appreciated. I have reproduced the logo as it is
on the package pretty accurately.

This is the results of my first round of
Corsa tach testing.
